Professional career
1991–1998: Registrar in the Department of General and Vascular Surgery at the Diakonie-Krankenhaus in Schwäbisch Hall under Prof. Lenner, and registrar in the surgical intensive care unit and the Department of Trauma, Hand, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under Prof. Siebert.
1998: Board certification as a Consultant Surgeon.
1998–2001: Registrar and Acting Senior Consultant under Prof. Dr. Siebert in the Department of Trauma, Hand, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Schwäbisch Hall
1999: Recognition in the subspecialty of trauma surgery
2001–2005: Practice registrar at the orthopaedic and surgical joint practice Dres. Scheibe / Suhas / Lais in Freiburg and with Dr. Paulsen in Eppingen
